On March 15, 2012 the Federal Aviation Administration presented Dan Kendall with the Charles Taylor "Master Mechanic" Award. Dan first started DLK Aviation in 1970 while still serving in the United States Air Force. After serving his Country for more than 27 years, Dan retired and began managing an already established and thriving general aviation maintenance shop located in three T-hangars at McCollum Field (Cobb County Airport) in Kennesaw, Georgia.
In 1992 he moved his business into a newly purpose-built hangar and that is where you will still find us more than twenty two years later.
Today, DLK Aviation is the last remaining FAA Certified Repair Station on the airport. We are also a factory-authorized service center for Cirrus, Cessna, Mooney and Piper piston-engine aircraft.
